Does anyone know how to stop a DDoS attack? I have a router, can I somehow configure it to block attacks?

1. i have PPP cable connected through ethernet

2. my ISP is comcast and the speeds are 1800/256

3. OS: windows server 2003

I'm sure I don't have any spyware because I just reformatted this PC this morning

I've tried all the tweaks, but I got no speed improvement
My isp said im supposed to be getting 1.5mbps/384kbps but the highest i got is about 700/350

i called my ISP, they lie to me saying its capped at 1.5mbps down/384 up but the highest I ever got was about 700/300

my friend told me you can "uncap" your dsl to make it faster.

i just called EarthLink, my ISP, and they told me my dsl was in safe mode and it is capped at 768kbps down/384up
In a couple of days, they're going to put my dsl back in to normal mode, and hopefully it will be faster!
