Velocity 4400.....directx problem????
Hey guys, I have a 750 mhz AMD athlon, velocity 4400 video card, directx 7.1, and I am having trouble upgrading to 8.0 or 8.1 directx. The install program basically freezes up every freakin' time!!! I first tried 8.1 and it didn't work, and later found some reading that said it is for newer ...

UPDATE
Hey guys, thanks for the help.....I have spent the last few days learning more about trojan horses (RATs), IP/port scanners than I thought I'd ever know. The link from Tony T really helped me find the server..... I can't thank you enough!! . Many other removal pages were either incorrect or did not ...

Thanks, it was opened before I restored, so does that mean it is still running or not?? Are all the effected files locked up in that restore copy, or can it still run when trapped in an old restore file? How can I delete the restore file? What's a good program to see if I'm being watched? Thanks ...

Trojan in system restore!!! Help please
I received a trojan while my norton was down, and I found it about five minutes after it was opened, and quickly restored my system to the last clean date. It is in my restore files and can not be deleted or cleaned because it is in use. Can it harm my security from a restore file?? If this is a ...

Thanks for the advice guys! I am almost 100% sure now the signal isn't enough due to the way they hooked it up. The first cable guy I asked about RR about six months ago, said that he would have to run a new line to the street. This new guy simply split it inside the house, and it shares a line with ...

Sorry, I seriously did not know that. Are there no recent movies that are legal to download??? I hope this topic hasn't put a black mark on my record here, because I do have alot of other types of computer questions to ask about. As I said, I am quite new to broadband, and I am trying to figure out ...

Thanks. :) I think I'll just throw in the fact I'm new on every post so folks don't think I am slow or something! :D Is 363 kbps a typical upload speed? I am just looking to get into file sharing, and I don't want to be the joke who uploads much too slow. Sorry to keep on with the questions, but ...

Lobo, I am not 100% sure what you mean by that....are you saying that my upload speed is as fast as someone can receive files from me regardless of their download potential? Thanks for clarification and time. :) I am quite new to broadband....3 days. If so, that sucks.....I could get a 300 meg file ...

losing connection constantly!!
Hey guys, I am having trouble with my RR signal going out. I try unplugging it for a minute to reset it, but that doesn't work very often. I have had a cable modem for a few days now, and I did have the TV cable split between the bedroom and living room which I was told might hurt my signal to the ...

file sharing?
I really want to download full length Divx movies, but I am not sure how it works at all. I know it has something to do with IRC, but how does it work, and does it endanger my security? Do I just ask people for what I want ? As you can see, I am clueless. A friend has been giving us movies, but I ...

Thanks guys, I didn't realize that upload had a much lower rate limit on RR. I am EXTREMELY pleased with the download speed after a few tweaks. When they first hooked it up, it wasn't much faster than my old 56, and I was very disappointed. Seems like they should set up your OS to except broadband ...

here's my broadband report.......any thoughts on improvement or even clue me into what I'm looing at? Also my download/upload test shows me good at at 1994 kbp/s for download, but my upload was only 363 kbps? How can I increase my upload speed?
