Finally someone sat down and tried to understand my view on the situtation. Thanks for the post torsten. I don't care what the "fine print" says. When I am blatantly lied to in advertising, yes, I get angry. Unlimited means just that. No limitations.

You failed to read the fine print in their advertisement. There's ALWAYS limitations. Always. You just learned a valuable lesson regarding that fact.

But how can it be UNLIMITED with SOME limitations? That makes no sense, and is false advertising....and there was no fine print in the ad.

Service agreements aren't verbal. Have you actually read your provider's AUP/TOS, or at least checked to see how it outlined servers? I've never seen a residential cable ISP permit servers of any kind.

Here's the bottom line Vidiot. You have violated the terms of a CONTRACT that YOU signed with your cable company. Sorry, but you can't plead ignorance now saying you didn't know there was a cap on the amount of data you can transfer.

You violated the AUP/TOS by running a server. Why do you think you should have the limits removed? My guess is they are implemented on your ISP's side or via the modem's configuration file, so there's no way around them.

My ISP is Cogeco@Home....near Toronto Ontario
