Cajun, you are way off on your explaination. First off a signal booster( house amp) will increase the signal going to the house, but at the same time it will also increase the transmit level of the modem as it increases the return attenuation. If the signal going to your house is poor an the service ...

You won't be able to see your modem strength. Your ISP can see it, but in order for you to see it you would need to know what program they are using on their system and also have a sign on and password. Sorry to tell you that but your ISP will tell you what your modem health is if you give them a ...

sounds like you have done something to that dll file. go to start/search/file or folder/ and type in that dll file and see if it can find it. If it does then the tweaks may have done the damage. If it can't then pop in your windows disk and load that file onto your machine from the cd.

transmit at 58

Halflifer, if your transmitting at 58dbmv then you are on the edge to going offline. I know the Toshiba modem will only transmit up to 58dbmv. Not sure bout some of the others.

Thanks for the back-up, but i am concerned with his snr. Is the 33 his recieve or transmit snr. ..........if it is his transmit snr then he fine but if his transmit snr is below29 then there are problems and if it drops below 25 he will have packet loss and at 21 he starts loosing connectivity.

slow speed

Heres what u do. Call your cable provider(cox) and tell them of your speed issue, and they will send out a HSD tech to work the problem over. I work for cox and i have consistent speeds of 2500 to 3200kbps. Yours are way to slow.
