You won't be able to see your modem strength. Your ISP can see it, but in order for you to see it you would need to know what program they are using on their system and also have a sign on and password. slow speeds
I live in Greenville, N.C. and my speeds are not to bad. They have been better, but these are not shabby. Besides I work with Cox Communications so if you tell me about where you live I may can help you out with an answer or you can just call the local office.

transmit at 58
Halflifer, if your transmitting at 58dbmv then you are on the edge to going offline. I know the Toshiba modem will only transmit up to 58dbmv. Not sure bout some of the others.

Thanks for the back-up, but i am concerned with his snr. Is the 33 his recieve or transmit snr. ..........if it is his transmit snr then he fine but if his transmit snr is below29 then there are problems and if it drops below 25 he will have packet loss and at 21 he starts loosing connectivity.

It sounds like a job for your isp.(cable company) It could be anything from someone close by coming home and turning on their heat and it is back feeding noise onto the main line to a small problem in the line going to your house or as big as the optical node you ...

Heres what u do. Call your cable provider(cox) and tell them of your speed issue, and they will send out a HSD tech to work the problem over. I work for cox and i have consistent speeds of 2500 to 3200kbps. Yours are way to slow.
