Which DVD fomat +R(+RW) or -R(-RW) is most compatible / better?
Hi Folks
I am just about to get a DVD burner (LiteOn 8X/8X) & am wondering which format is the better one to use. Will everyone be read on any DVD rom machine, be it PC based or a home entertainment machine. What should I be aware of for maximum compatiblity. Thanks Ilmars

Is 802.11g the standard for a while...
or is there a new faster standard coming soon (in the next couple or years)? I'm thinking about a D-Link DI-624, that you can firmware up to 108 mbs max, but is there something faster coming up ( I already have 802.11b). I know internet only comes so fast. Thanks Ilmars

What's a good app for saving drivers?
I think I've heard of these apps before but don't recall any specific names. If I'm going to blow away an OS but don't want to hunt down all the drivers again, is there an app that will extract the drivers for use when needed after the fresh reinstall of the OS, be it 98/ME/2000/XP? Thanks Ilmars

In the old 98se Media Player (6) you could open lots of windows to play many different file in their own window but I can't seem to find this option in the new Media Player 9. Do I need some sort of tweak app? Thanks Ilmars

I have formated & sys'd it in Win98se & tried it in a Compaq D510 & D530 that boot from USB. They both see it because the boot process ends at no boot files on USB device. I ...

Does increasing your refresh rate put more "strain" on your monitor?
I have a great monitor, Viewsonic PF775, but if I run it at a higher refresh rate (120Hz instead of say 85Hz) do I put more ware on the monitor & shorten its useful life or does it run fine, no worries. I know that a faster refresh rate lessens the flicker but isn't 85Hz good for flicker? Are there ...

Testing a power supply....?
If a power supply is completely out of the computer and not connected to the PC (the motherboard) & you plug it in to the wall, it won't crank up. I suppose that you must "jumper" a couple of the wires on the 20 pin connector. Which ones, so as to get it going to make sure it works? Thanks Ilmars

Is that a normal thing? I added a 6ft extention to a mediocre monitor (already a touch blurry), & now it is significantly out of focus. I have (carefully) gone in to the guts of the monitor and adjusted the focus, but to no benefit. Is the extention of poor quality (it looks fair) or do all ...
