Why LANs are always called TCP/IP networks, Yes, they use TCP/IP protocols but what are other networks that don't use TCP/IP ?

If you do an IPCONFIG /ALL.....you'll see the subnet mask is probably 255.255.255.0 (24 bit, class C) but not knowing your network it could be broken up differently.
The IP starts with a "10" so it's a private IP range
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reserved_IP_addresses Its 250.0.0.0 for mine ...

Class A IP Addresses

I've studied that networks IP starting from 1-126 are class A networks and they are assigned to some special sites, but when I found by IP address using ipconfig on windows it shows 10.110.161.8, how is this IP address is assigned to our network ?
