Sheesh...I thought I was doing good pulling 47C at idle and 55-57C @full load in an 80 degree room (Gotta love third floor of an apartment building). This is on the rig in my sig.
So really how do you guys pull these nice low temps?

Hmmm
OK, I hooked the 'ol voltmeter up to the last lead on the pigtail coming off the PSU, it's reading 12.56 rock steady.
Both the BIOS and PCprobe report values like before in the 13.5+ range. So now what? :/

Testing Molex connector with voltmeter question.
I am looking to test my PSU's 12v output because it is showing 13.5+ in the BIOS for the 12v lead. I have a voltmeter here but I am not all that familiar with their use.

I installed my Volcano 9 tonight and I am loving it. The fan seems to run at some serious RPM for the most part (4100-4400 RPM out of a possible 4800). This seems a little high but I am just happy to have my main rig back and under 50 degree :D so I'll leave well enough alone.....for now.

Let's get real here guys. If you are wrenching on diesel engines then, yes you need some high quality tools. If you are wrenching on an aluminum cased computer with a few stainless steel screws, a screwdriver you found at the salvation army could do the job just as well.

BIOS settings questions
I had a few questions as to how to set a few features of my BIOS. I figured since it is directly related to the hardware that it would be more appropriate in this forum rather than the software forum. I have quite a few questions so i thank you in advance for spending the time to read/answer any or ...

+12V @ 13.5...is this a problem?
I am running an XP 2200 on an Asus A7V333. My +12V readings on Asus' PC probe show 13.5 and it continually blinks "out of threshold" messages. Is this something I need to be concerned about or is it simply a setting that The monitoring program dosn't recognize?

Chipset cooling....
I recently picked up an Asus A7V333 mobo. The chipset has a big ass heatsink just below the CPU. Has anyone found a nice little fan that fits this heatsink?
The only limitation is that it has to fit next to the Volcano 9 I am about to order

AMD safe temps?
Im running an Athlon XP 2200 on an Asus A7V333 I am running temps of ~65C/150F on the processor and ~40C/100F on the Mobo. The room temperature is ~80F.
These are basic idling temps with the case opened up. I have yet to try it running anything intensive, so I'm a bit concerned.

When I bought the processor I got a heat sink and fan from the vendor. It's not a brand name of any kind but it is rather huge. It had a "smidge" of some heat transfer "goo" under a red celephane pull tab that was already applied to it. I am fairly positive that this is far from the ideal HSF combo ...

I just put together a new system and I think it's running waaaaay too hot.
It's an Athlon 2200 XP on an Asus K7V333 Raid board. My current Mobo temperature is hovering around 100 degrees Farenheit and my CPU is a blistering 152 degrees farenheit....are these numbers OK or should I start worrying?

Make shortcut arrows go bye bye...
To clean up the look of your desktop shortcuts simply go to the Run menu and start up Regedit. Now search for and remove any instances of "Isshortcut". After you restart, all of your shortcuts will no longer have that annoying little arrow in the corner

New XP home install....
Hi guys and gals.
I just built up a new system and installed XP home. I used to run ME and had all the "tips and tricks" down pat. Now with XP I have to relearn it all. I was hoping you guys could direct me to either an FAQ or a website to learn all the new tweaks I can do with XP
