port forward for remote desktop

A router is connected to adsl line , with 4 LAN ports. The service provider don't allow any configuration for the router , so i can' configure port forward for RDP connection for two windows xp machines connected to the router with NAt .The router is protected by password.

openvpn client with ISA server

I created openvpn client which is ISA 2006 client to connect to openvpn server , but i can not make a connection.
ISA client is installed.
the Local LAN is 192.168.1.0/24 , and client /server is UDP with network 10.8.0.0 /32


I asked ISA admin , but he can't resolve the problem.

Thanks YeOldeStonecat , you are very helper and do the best.

Using terminal service 2003 may be the choice due to compatability issues of software.
OpenVpn is my favorite choice.
I created lab test using vmware and make POC for the solution.

So, I should upgrade server windows 2000 to windows 2003 (windows 2008 not compatible with current applications) to get benefit of TCP enhancement

....you might be better off looking for a terminal server approach , or running remote desktop published apps. Instead of trying to run a fat client through a VPN tunnel. Not to mention additional tunnel traffic like DNS, other AD functions.

still i need your experience for speeding VPN over ADSL (don't care to my solution , it is a suggestion) :)
You can post your experience for handling performance of VPN either using software or hardware appliaances.

q1-When i optimize TCP , is it valid for LAN / Internet Connection, or i should apply custome setting for each?

Advice for Remote Access VPN with WAN optimization

The server in Main office windows 2000 run Oracle database 9i.
The remote clients desktop machines, windows xp run application that connect to the Database server Over ADSL connection.

I plan to make Remote Access VPNs with 5 branches to run the client/server application.

i created vpn between two machines:
-server windows 2000 connected to adsl router with speed 1 mbps. (running oracle database)
-and remote client windows xp sp2 connected to usb wireless adsl connection (about 1 mbps)
