That 115 address is your public IP address, the one that your ISP gives you...and the WAN interface of your router is obtaining it.
If you did not have a router..and you plugged your computer directly into your broadband modem, your computer would get that IP address. But you would not have the ...

D-Link Modem + Aztech Bad Modems dead

I have at least 5 D-Links modem and 3 Aztech modems gone dead with just 2 common factors

1. Strike by lightning
2. Dead by itself.

Now my question is those modems which is dead by itself. Can we flush out the old settings or whatever data it contents?

Your "modem" is actually a combo modem/router (gateway) protecting your home computer with a basic hardware firewall, "NAT". This is a good thing.
Common internal IP ranges of home broadband routers are 192.168.0.xxx and 192.168.1.xxx. It's a private Class C subnet mask.

What method are you using to connect to your home PC? The built in Remote Desktop Client of Windows? A 3rd party remote software app like UltraVNC?
If you're using your web brower..and you plug in your public IP address of your home connection..you're probably hitting the web browser web admin ...

Accessing my PC through IP address

Internet connection in the office where i work is using another ISP but at home i am using another ISP. So out of curiosity i use my office computer to browse my home computer IP address using web-browser. Suddenly windows screen pop up prompt for username and password to my IP.

Why is my IP address different from the one set in modem

Can anyone explain why the IP address found in my network details is different from the one when i search it using http://www.whatismyip.com?

For example
Network connection details show: 192.168.XX.XX but when using http://www.whatismyip.com is shows 115.133.xx.xx

Can anyone explain which one is ...
