able to watch DVD but can't access folder in CD and cd has been finalized too able to play media on CDs and DVD only....

Im actually asking this for a friend and this is the most helpfull place in the world (IMO) so here goes

I got a Pioneer DVD-106S and I got a prob...I am unable to browse a CD/DVD...I'm running Windows XP
specs of the pc are
Duron 950MHz
Kyro 2 v-card
768MB of DDR RAM
Soltek SL-DRV4 Purple Ray ...

yup thats exaclty it ..IT is also an ali chipset , atleast thats was wut it detected it as under win 98. But i tried installing one of the drivers it said it doesnt detect the ali hardware or sumthing.

YEah the thing is i gotta go all the way to his place to connect to net with his comp.... His comp doenst recongnize ma adsl connection so no surfing on it.

Windows update? Iono ma experience with windows update never helps for sum reason. Does anyone know if the sound card in a M754 pc chips mother board compatible with windows 2000?

I wished i built it from scractch lol. NO ma friend got this comp from a friend who works at a comp store i think and long story short, he lacks the drivers disks and most stuff, i think he lost them. Also, most parts of this comp are intregrated onto the motherboard.

I was helping a friend of mine install win 2000, now the problem is the sound doesnt work. I tried installin the new drivers for it but it said it doesnt not detect the hardware in the registry or sumthing along those lines. His sound card is intregrated onto his mother board. Dont know which is the jumper but i removed the lithium battery ... hopefully it resets!!!

That would help in identifying ma mother board if i can see anyting during start up .. but the whole screen is fuzzed out so i cant see the strings on the bottom to identify my Bios

It wasnt flash. SUm settings were changed now it doesnt work ... well im not sure wut mother board it is ... all i know is its an amd 667mzh 320nvram .. i know it has an alladin tnt2 video card on board. .i dunno if that helps

Can someone help me out plz . Can someone tell me how u can reset the bios! Because when i boot up, the screen is screwed up and u cant make out anything. Sorry if this is the wrong forum but im jus so out of luck.

Well i did it a lil diffrently ... i extracted all the drivers onto my C drive. I found the drivers, but now for some reason , there is no sound when i install the drivers!

Nope still no duplex . The only dtriver that enables duplex is on the windows 98 cd but it wont detect it when i try to install the WDM version.

I need to know where i can find the ESS 1869 WDM driver. I know its on the windows 98 cd but i cant access it, so if anybody knows how to extract those driver from the windows disk its a big help. I tried compatiable drivers for the sound card, but none gives you duplex capabilities.

YO but the thing is ma friend on the same connection (shaw) gets freakin higher speeds than me.. he gets like 40 times 56k on a test......

Well im in Vancouver shaw cable. As far as i know there are no caps and im used to getting like 20 times faster than 56k now im getting 5 times faster than 56k no matter when i test out my speed....

Aiight heres the deal. I just reformat ma comp . Reinstalled everything blah blah blah .. Ok heres the prob, ma upload is extremely slow .. I MEAN SLOW.. its like 2 k a second.. or 30 bits or sumthing like that.. It was way faster before the reformat like around 50k . So sum one anyone gimme a clue ...

Yeah I have a few friends on for that . The Gold addition? dont know if its anygood or not but ill check that out . As for GTA2 i never played it online .. but ill try and check it out
