I don't know why these companies don't advertise in MB or KB/second, since that is more meaningful.

What is your advertised speed? Use that "optimal speed" in the settings on the program.
Try this:

I had this question too. In the meantime, you can make the current version work with Windows 8
by running the program as admin, and in Windows 7 compatibility mode. All applicable features and tweaks will work.

Right click the program executable, "properties," "Run this program in compatibility ...

Some optimizations do not "take"

I am running Vista SP2 32 bit. I run the optimal settings for my connection.
However, after I restart, 3 settings are still blank, and they are the Direct Cache Access, Net DMA, and Windows scaling heuristics.

Anyone else have this problem? I made sure to run the program as administrator.

All you have to do is run the latest TCP Optimizer, and then use the slider bar at the top to set the optimal settings for a 15 megabit connection.
After that, you apply the settings and restart the computer.

I get no error code. All I get is the normal, "Our Security Scan found NO open ports" statement.

The problem is that the "total scanned ports" is at 0, and so no ports where scanned to begin with.

Also, I see "SG Security Scan complete in: n/a sec." instead of some number, usually 5-10 seconds.

Port Scan not working

When I try the port scan, nothing happens, it scans nothing. Anybody else have this problem?
