Had a go at using an old 2611 at home, connecting it to the cable modem.
The router gets it's IP ok via DHCP
Here's the config (just basics at the moment)

I think all the routers in PT work.
Send your config to BThomson1984@aol.com and I'll do it, you can the do a "show run" to see what I did.
But I'd defo have a look at some vids.

re
Not sure if this is what you want, but propagation time is simply a Distance/Speed calculation
roughly
100*10^3 / 3*10^8 = 0.000333s
Transmission time is
Data / Connection Speed in bits per second
From this, the normalised delay bandwidth can be found with
Propagation time / Transmission time

100*10^3 / 3*10^8 = 0.000333s

Strange... Have you put enough serial interfaces on the actuall device? And then gone through each interface and assigned a DLCI and a name?
I'm using 5.2, but it seems to work fine.
Make sure you're not trying to use the same local DLCI more than once.

S2: has these

S3: has these

S1 (101) to S2 (101)
S1 (102) to S3 (101)
S2 (102) to S3 (102)
DCLI's are only localy significant, but you need one for each Serial interface it's mapped to.

What kind of router are you using? Most decent routers have multiple interfaces, all of which can be configured with seperate networks/subnets.

For Cisco networking you could try GNS3

Or Cisco Packet tracer, whic is only available for Cisco networking academy student, but I'm sure if you keep an ear to the ground you will find it

Hi, I've set up a small home lab to practise for Uni.

Everything works fine, but now I would like to give the whole network internet access.
Do I need a third router for NAT or can I use any one of the current two?

Hi
I'm looking for a script that displays computer name, IP address and other such info.
I was told there were loads of such scripts available for free online, is this true, if so could you point me in the right direction
Thanks again
