I use FlexiMusic Wave Editor for editing music files.This program lets you make and edit voice, music and other audio recordings. When editing audio files you can cut, copy and paste parts of recordings and if required, add effects like echo, amplification and noise reduction.

Avira works good for me.

Play your music in iTunes and record it using FlexiMusic Wave Editorand convert it into Mp3. It is designed to be very easy and intuitive to use.

You can use FlexiMusic Wave Editor for removing the imperfections in Mp3 file, it is probably the best one for a job.
