The PS isn't checked at the power on self test operation.

1.System timing
2.CPU
3.RAM

it don't really matters which operating system are you using now,it matters if you have support with the kind of file(i mean,like EXE that you can't open with Linux )

your nic does *NOT* have anything to do with your mac. you can take the same machine to your friend's house and use their modem and have the same mac as them. the mac is assigned to the modem on a broadband network (read whatis.com).
