Well, here's the happy ending to my story. After exchanging my NVidia card for another, and also updating the BIOS and upgrading all the motherboard, chipset, NVidia and D-Link drivers to their latest versions and realizing none of these solved the problem, I decided to change my wireless card.

I ...

If you wanna see a real difference get a new motherboard with a Core2 Duo. Even at lower frequency speeds, they'll be faster than any 3Ghz HT CPU.

That depends on the NVidia driver. If Windows recognizes the two outputs as two separate display devices (in Device Manager) you'll see that the resolution for each monitor will be handled separately. Therefore, the max resolution will be per port. However, I have seen some NVidia cards are ...

I don't think you'll see any difference so it's not worth it. You have to go to a Dual Core or Core2 Duo if you want to see a significant improvement. My new machine is 1.8Ghz Core2 Duo and it is noticeably faster than my older 3.0Ghz P4 with Hyperthreading...believe it or not! :)

That's right. No harm at all in getting extra RAM. The only thing is that since you won't need the extra RAM for a long time to come, you might end up upgrading your system before you even need that much RAM and maybe that new system will use a different type of RAM chips and you'll have to buy all ...

Weird interference problem (WiFi and video card)

This is a good one! Sorry for the length. I have an ASUS motherboard in my home-built machine. It has regular PCI, PCI-E 1X and 16X slots. I use a D-Link WDA-2320 PCI wireless card and has been working great in the past few months with WPA2 encryption to my D-Link 625 router. I also have an ATI All ...

Glad it worked for you. For me, it did not work. The only thing that worked was to reinstall Windows. :(

mccoffee, thanks for the suggestions. I only understood what you wrote about allowing ping from the WAN side. I did this but it did not help, so I disabled it again for security reasons.

However, I think I found what the problem is but I am not 100% sure yet. My Blink security software has a ...

Yeah, I thought the TCP Window was too high, but that's what TCP Optimizer suggested as the optimal setting. As for the MTU, TCP Optimizer suggested 1500 and that seemed to lessen the problem, however it is still there. Now, downloads take a few seconds longer to stall, but they still stall ...

I have a 15mbps down, 2mbps up connection. I forgot to mention that I use Eeye Blink Personal Security software (which does Firewall/Antivirus/Antispyware, etc.) and I am suspecting this is the source of the problem.

Here are the TCP Analyzer results:

I have a desktop computer running XP w/SP2 all updated. I use a D-Link WDA-2320 PCI wireless card to connect to my router.

I have a problem where SOME downloads stall. For instance, I cannot watch movie trailers from Netflix, or from Apple. However, I can watch them just fine from Apple if they use ...

Sorry to bring this thread back again, but I am experiencing the same issue. I wonder if tjohnston was able to resolve his problem.

Just as stated above, I have tried pinging by IP address. Since we're all using IP addresses directly, NBTSTAT, NetBIOS, etc. have nothing to do here.

The only ...
