i have a netgear rt314 router with cox.net isp. i play a Quake 3 mod called Urban Terror . i get message when i connect to most servers bad or no address error. on most but not all. is this a server issue? i am using win xp home. on the router setup the netgeat page says to use sppof this Pc mac ...

when i connect to some Urban Terror Q 3 mod servers i get a "no or bad challenge "error frequently. i connect thru gamespy arcade. any ideas? thanks Bill

got ban removed since i didnt do anything to deserve it , admin thinks they were trying to ban a cheat but got my ip by mistake

the weird thing is my i cant connect with my router cuz server says banned but i can connect without router

some admin banned me on game server but no one will own up to it no big deal but somehow they got my ip

WAN side, i have disconnected the cable modem but keep gettin same ip assigned

i get video waves or ripples in the screen playing urban terror convers. with q 3 1.29g. i have a geforce 3, 384 sd ram, 933 p iii. i have played around with the setting for monitor and vid card, any suggestions?

finallly got the 12.41 nvidia drivers, everything works great except for the monitor has an annoying flicker, i have Geforce256 card using a multisync 90 from NEC...Any ideas guys? i running it at true color and 1024 by 768

does the netgear rt314 have a default firewall in place? I downloaded port detective and everything seems blocked. But i run mirc,napster, etc without configuring it for a proxy/firewall. Also does anyone know how i can decrease my ping when playing kingpin online thru the router? my ping has gone ...

yes thks gl for the "search for 314 instead of rt314" tip to get to the most current firmware. updated the router but still get a big difference with ping if connected to router as compared with direct modem connection. main kingpin server i use i am getting 53-65 ping with direct modem but 90-105 ...

I really dont know I havent played Quake 3 on a cable modem to get a feel for what my standard pin is/was. i have the 3.2 rt314 firmware, should i upgrade to 3.22? Also i tried to get a pc to pc connection over internet but wont connect...at all

yes....a direct connection to modem returns me to my normal ping....

i am playing Kingpin online thru the rt314 , pin was about 67-70 before when computer was connected directly to cable modem, is that what you mean by latenc? thx Bill

I hooked up a netgear rt314 and my 2 computers. playing a game (kingpin) my ping is up from 67-70 to 90-100.i have a toshiba cable,modem with the installed tweaks from speedguide.net , service is from @home. What can i do to reduce the pings? thx

since the person who installed the cable modem from the cable co was a contractor he statd that the @home software was terrible and he didnt install it, I guess I dont have to worry about the brower looking for the precached web pages

You guys and this site have been alot of help to get @home connection better. THanks Question: I saw somewhere here how to get your web browser to stop looking for the pre cached pages on the @home servers but I cant seem to locate it...Again thanks for your files,advice and help Bill
