PXE-E51: No DHCP or proxyDHCP offers were received

OK - here's a quiz. I receive this error on a W2K machine that has static assigned IP (no DHCP, no server, only a peer to peer network).

PXE-E51: No DHCP or proxyDHCP offers were received

Although this appears to be a connectivity issue, it happens randomly. A full powerdown and restart brings ...

Is the router also connected to a desktop computer? If so, can you get internet on the desktop? What kind of broadband do you have? Can you connect the broadband directly, and have internet connection? Is any security enabled on the Linksys?

Many questions before answers come.

It sounds like the local profile was lost. Are you logging in remotely - through a VPN or something?

What operating system? If you have winXP SP 2, you can let windows manage the dlink network card. Then you should be able to set it up.

I had a similar problem with a Linksys router/ap. The dsl modem and the router had an IP address conflict. Linksys has an automatic setup utility on their website that solved it. The modem stayed at 192.168.1.1, and the router went to 192.168.2.1 and continued to supply dhcp service, but not PPPoE ...

WRT54GS - Wireless-G Broadband Router password problem

I have a problem with the WRT54GS - Wireless-G Broadband Router. I can't get into the set up page. I tried going into the browser at 192.168.1.1 which is stated in the manual. Standard login is no name and password admin. Pretty basic - the login screen comes on, but won't let me in. I tried using ...

If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Although it may not totally be a scam, it's most likely not on the up and up.

ICS and Access Point/Routers w/dial up

I have a Linksys ap/router that states you can't use it with dial up. My guess is because the ap/router is a dhcp server, and also wants to be the only gateway on the lan. Is there a way around this, so that a PC connected to a dial up connection, can be used as the internet connection for a device ...

I have the same problem. Turning off the router and turning it back on does the same thing as re-setting the channel. I think that it is a problem with the router.
