Tom, it is most likely that loose jack. Replace it, thats a must. If there are any connectors between the modem and the wall jack like to add an extension to reach across the room or add two devices on the same line then remove those also. I heistate to tell people that I am not sure are familiar with the Windows Registry to edit anything in there, but after having said that...

just go to the run box above your start button and type in msconfig then hit ok. once that opens, go to the Startup tab at top. look thru the list for the "dumprep.exe" and uncheck it. this is a legit program to supply debugging info. microsoft says that it is most likely because of an incompatible ...
