Thought I would give an update...

The new modem came in today. It came with a power cord and nothing else. I unhooked my old modem and hooked the new modem to my current ethernet cable and hardwired it to my laptop to test the modem. It was so damn slow I could barely pull up google.com.

thanks 4 the reply. when i get the new modem & call them to give the mac number, if it still drops ill call & tell them im having problems with the new modem & they need to come out. charter is whack. its a monopoly here, no other choice in internet unless you want dsl or dialup. should be illegal ...
