Optimizing a NIC
I recently read in a previous post that it is best for the NIC to have its own IRQ not shared with any other devices. How does one get the nic to have its own IRQ. I can't change the IRQ setting in device manager. It's using IRQ 11 and is sharing it with "ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering" and ...

installing the nic properly
how does one get the nic to not share its IRQ. I can't change the IRG setting in device manager. It's using IRQ 11 and is sharing it with "ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering" and "VIA Tech 3038 PCI to USB Universal Host Controller"

Web server problem
I'm hosting a web page off my computer using apache running on win98se.
Can anyone think of a reason why people who are on a network connected to the internet by a router can get on my site, but people who have a direct connection cannot? Or more generally, why would some people be able to get on ...

Web Serving Problem with linksys router
Ok, I'm having a very strange problem. I've been using a linksys router and 4 computers on a lan with the router connected to a cable modem for over a year now. I've been running a web site off my computer for most of that time, and everything has been fine until recently. I have my computer set as ...

multiple hard drives + controllers
I currently have three hdd's and one cdrom hooked up to my motherboard's primary and secondary ide connectors. I want to add another hard drive and possibly another cdrom plus have room for future expansion. I'm pretty sure I need a pci controller card, but I have no knowledge on these. How exactly ...

Question about ATA stuff (please help)
I got a new hard drive for my older system that I was planning on using to store things (mp3's and video stuff mostly), but the hard drive is ATA 100 and I think the motherboard only supports ATA 33/66. I don't really know much about any of this stuff, but when I put it in my newer system, when I ...

Thanks
That is exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. Hopefully it'll work now. Why port 20?
My server is on port 1212, btw, if that matters.
Thanks again

Yeah, but...
It's not just one person, it's anyone behind a router. It seems like a person can log in to an ftp site if there's only one firewall inbetween them, but not two. People who aren't behind a router can access my site, which seems to be behind a router, but people behind a router can't.

Using router with FTP server problem
I'm using a Linksys router to connect three computers to the internet via a cable modem. One of the computers is running an FTP site with the War-ftp server program. In the router setup, I set that computer as the DMZ host, meaning it should be outside the router's firewall. My ftp site is ...

Please help with this annoying problem...
I've got four computers hooked into a 5-port linksys switch. I've got a cable modem hooked into a linksys 1-port router which is also hooked into the switch. Three of the computer don't have any problems at all, and they are using PCI NIC's, while this one computer, using a linksys USB net adapter ...
