I setup my WRT54G router on my small network without any problem. used the default ip of the router as 192.168.1.1.

suddenly, after 2 weeks of used i could no longer access the web utility. its just a blank page, no username and password asked. im sure i didn;t change any config prior to that ...

Much like FM radio (802.11x) signal, wireless uses radio waves to transmit/recieve data. A "wired" connection is simply a network configuration that uses cable (e.g., copper, glass) to connect to a network.

Looks to me like TWC has their routers "blocked" for (ICMP) pings, tracert, etc. Your tracert shows you are online and able to surf to yahoo.com...

Sly, looks to be a DNS server problem... In your CP/network connection settings, you may want to "obtain DNS server address automatically" - else if you specify the DNS server(s), you might check with your ISP to verify your IPs are correct....

depending on the age of your laptop, you may already have a internal (conflicting) wireless network card. alternately, each manufacturer has their own connection agent... If you are using XP, I would recommend you forgo the Mfg's and go with XPs builtin "Wireless Zero Client"...

I suspect you are victim of RF interference or a bad wlan card/adpter. goto the command line (START>RUN>CMD>OK) and ping your router to see where (WAN/LAN) & when (5min?) you are losing connectivity.

ping -t 192.168.x.y (your router/gateway addr).. wait 5 minutes and wait for the results to chg ...

paulmat.... I am confused. If you are already connected via wireless why would you try to connect wireless via an alt method/means? Forget Windows Network, especially if PC networking are foreign objects.

Files are typically listed in bytes (8bits), perhaps your 100mbps is actually 100MBps (bytes), approx equiv to 800M(bits)/sec.

Verify you are Wirelessly connecting to YOUR network router and not come distant unsecurty WLAN.

IP Address ...... 192.168.
Default Gateway...... 192.168.

If 0.0.0.0 or blank, disable ALL your PC firewalls & check (control panel) network connect - your nic is probably disabled ...
