Had my Linksys N equipment for total of eight days. Connection and speed were no problem but the range was TERRIBLE!

Went back to my WRT54GX4 router and SRX400 card. Speed just as good, and range about twice as good.

Windows firewall and wireless connection

Hello,

On one of my wireless networks that I manage I have a Linksys WRT54g router combined with the Linksys wireless access point set up in repeater mode.

My new linksys SRX400 card will connect to the router but not the repeater unless I turn off Windows firewall. I figure it is in the ...

Yes the WZC works very well I will be using it. I didn't know if there was a fix out there somewhere. Linksys did reply with the usual "uninstall/reinstall" canned reply. I like linksys products but their support needs an upgrade! :D

Linksys Wireless Utility

Hey guys been awhile since I have posted. Just upgraded my wireless equipment. Went with the MIMO LInksys Router and matching card. The range and speed are excellent, blows the regular Router G and card away!

I tried to use the utility that came with the card because I like the looks of it and it ...

XP to 98 network printing

Hello,

Attempting to network a Win XP client laptop to a machine running Win98SE. All works great except for the printer. XP sees the printer but will not load it advising "server has wrong driver". I have dealt with this in past, but can`t remember how to fix this.

Little help please.

Hey guys,

Been awhile since I posted anything so I thought I would pass on a little info.

HP All-in-one software and XP Pro

Anybody have trouble with HP all-in-one software glitching out with Windows XP Pro? My 2110 "scan button" will not work after a period of time and I have to reinstall the software. Unit will scan if I go into the HP Director. Everything else works great.

Hey Stonecat,

Under most conditions I would agree with you 100% ! Even after unchecking all the proper boxes, messenger still runs as a process. (or at least it does on my XP boxes).

Changing the name of the folder stops this until a messenger upgrade occurs, usually through an IE update.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Actually you have several different options.

1 .Both machines must have a Network card (NIC)
2. You can use what is called a crossover cable to connect the machines thru the network cards. Big disadvantage here is that the machine connected to the Internet connection has to be on.
3. You can get a ...

Loaded Nero 5.5.9 for a friend. His burner is a 16X Mitsumi. The program shows a max writing speed of 8X and nowhere to change it.

All works fine, just won`t show max speed, any ideas?

Not sure what MOBO he has, but I do know it is a 1.1gig athlon with 512M Ram and XP Pro.
