When you remove it....It does not change your settings back to orig...it leaves them as it set them.

Look for a hosts file in your windows directory and delete it.

For me my usb rocks,If I put a standard 3 com nic in, my speed on dl drops about 50 Kps.I have tested and tested with both and for me its USB all the way.
