Win98 will use as much as you put in your computer but don't expect noticable performance increases over 128, except never hearing your hdd use virtual memory again Image

I think the limit is 1 or 2 gig tho for 98.. I could be wrong

Even if you don't o/c it much raise the FSB setting.. my old K6 233 ran on a 3.5 x 66 setting and on 3 x 75 even tho the clock speed was lower it ran alot faster due to the FSB being higher.

Try something like 4x105, then 4x110, and maybe 4x115.. 4x120 would be good too if your components can handle it.. with the k6 series the higher FSB is better then a higher mhz rating.

I have no idea when its gonna be coming out here.. As for Abit I think they are good. I haven't really heard any major complaints, and they seem to be the board manufacturer to have if you overclock. Also the BP6-2 would give you lots of options as to which cpu. If yer looking for a cheap home dual ...

Thats weird.. If you had to use a evergreen adapter it shouldn't have a agp. All SS7 boards have voltage settings low enough to use K6-2 and K6-3 processors. Unless you bought the evergreen upgrade without testing a regular chip first, or checking your manual. The difference between your 333 and a ...

GO with the ATHLON. At any clock speed it is faster then the intel, and ive heard from freinds its just a lot better.

Personally I'd wait about a month or 2 until AMD's latest crop of chips/mobo's come out. The compatibilty issue is outdated at best, I haven't heard of any such problems with the newer VIA KX133 chipset. I can't wait to see the new boards based on the AMD760 and AMD770 DDR chipset.. *drool*

try everything.. your multiplier is locked so it doesn't matter what its set at, it'll always default to 6x. Keep going up in FSB settings until either it won't post, windows won't load, or you get GPF's. Once you get instability raise the voltage a bit and see if that helps, or back the FSB down ...

I've seen a few 600E's running at 900mhz but you'd need some good ram to get a 150mhz FSB setting... not to mention hardware that can handle the raised PCI and AGP. I'm not familiar with your mobo so I dunno if this is possible for you tho.
