I've changed the suggestions you made, but I'm trying to look up the update for my NIC driver and I'm not sure which one to choose.

I have a Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC. Here is the page that I'm looking at :

Whoa, whoa...easy !!

I did just disable it, I was just stating that I've seen where you have mentioned that Zone Alarm tends to slow down an internet connection.

...or maybe, someone else mentioned it.

Before you responded to my posting, I tried the settings you mentioned in another post ( http://forums.speedguide.net/showthread.php?t=155353 ). I tweaked with the TCPOptimizer, using the custom settings like you said and now my d/l speed is between 3800k and 4000k. Should I be happy with these ...

I was just joking with the sarcasm remark. It wasn't meant in a bad way.

I tried the Sound recorder and it worked perfectly.

I changed the original wav file from the standard 44.100 kHz 16 Bit , Stereo,
and reduced it to 32.100 kHz 16 Bit , Stereo.

It plays all 60 sec. of the file.

I've never ...

Ahhhh....Sarcasm....How I love thee :p

Actually, I did try doing a "Google" search on compressing wav files, but all I got were pages and pages of converting wav to mp3, etc., etc.

..basically, I've been hoping for a solution, where I could alter the registry so that a wav file, playing when ...

Compressed wav file ?? - Does this mean an MP3 or can you compress a wav file so that it remains a wav file (but only smaller) ?

Blaine - I have only tried ...

How Can I Change WAV File Length ????

Hi everyone !!.....I'm hoping someone might be able to help.

I'm trying to have my personal wav file play during the start up of Windows XP. I have it playing, but it cuts off after about 15 sec. Is there any way that i can alter the settings, so that it plays a longer wav file.

Thank You
