Technicolor / Thomson TD5136

details: Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway
hardware type: DSL Wireless Router
date added: 2013-06-30
updated: 2015-06-25
The TD5136 is a high-performance router: with a simultaneous operation of 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n 2x2, speed, security and performance are guaranteed. With Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) users can easily connect with the TD5136 wireless network by simply pushing a button or entering a PIN code.

The support of multiple SSIDs in the gateway enables support for up to four independent wireless access networks. These additional wireless networks allow other wireless users to enjoy high-performance access without compromising the integrity of the basic network, thus keeping the original network access limited and secure.

Featuring an integrated four-port Fast Ethernet switch, the TD5136 offers seamless connection of wired and wireless devices from anywhere in the home. The integrated modem supports ADSL, ADSL2, and ADSL2+.

Speifically the RD5136V3
The modem itself has a good wifi range but the buffer is too small and is susceptible to aggresive quering, so if you have a device that is agressive all other devices lose connection to the modem and speeds drop to hundreds of kilobytes(~100kbps). Even if you have more than 2 devices connected the connection becomes very unstable. The ethernet is ok average, some resets a day(~1-2). If you have only one device or 2 connected its still fine. But a wired connection is highly recommended if not necessary if you are doing work.
