I bought the Netgear WGR-614. Setup was easy. Did it at home for a friend because we have the same ISP. (he likes to talk a lot) Both of my machines are XP and his desktop is XP & laptop I Win 7. Both wireless machines picked up the network but neither could connect. I called 24/7 Support last night after fighting the setting for an hour and he did everything I did except restart the router. After the third time changing the settings (not once changing to WEP where I had it initially from WPA2) he told me the problem was with my friends NEW laptop and to call the manufacturer to have them fix it. Not an issue with XP or WIN 7. When I told him I had set it up the night before at home with the same results all I heard was dead air....No more Netgear anything other than a good bashiong from me from now on.. I just return it and baught my buddy a Belkin ...

Mine has worked fine for the last year and then suddenly last week, ports 2, 3 & 4 all decided to stop working. They seem to connect fine, but no packets are being up or downloaded so no good connection is made.

Support has told me its hardware failure which I find hard to believe, specially when ports 2 & 3 dies on one day (having not used them for 2 weeks) and port 2 dies the following day. I think it is a setting but have been told to return and get a replacement.

Anyone any ideas or had this as well and fixed it ?
