Yahoo is introducing new AI tools for Yahoo Mail that are aimed at helping users save time and money, the company announced on Monday. The rollout includes upgrades to several of Yahoo Mail's existing AI features, and introduces a new Shopping Saver tool.

The new AI is currently in beta mode and only for Yahoo Mail iOS and desktop users in the US. To request access, browse to the Sign up page, enter your Yahoo username in the field for Request to join the beta, and click Next.

"We've introduced a full suite of tools on Yahoo Mail to help users save time and money, making strides toward an assistive inbox," said Josh Jacobson, senior vice president and general manager of Yahoo Mail, in a statement. "In total, US consumers have $23 billion in unused gift cards and credits, and we hope our new tools will help users gain a fraction of that back in their wallets."

Other AI features include an improved search mode where users can ask questions or choose from suggested prompts to find old emails rather than type keywords, a writing assistant that guides users to select the most appropriate tone of the email, and a message summary highlighting important information in an email.
