Yahoo beats Google to take US traffic top spot in July

For the first time since 2008, Yahoo! has topped Google in U.S. web traffic, according to the latest monthly figures from ComScore. Yahoo received 196.6 million unique visitors last month, compared to Google's 192.3 million.

However, it's worth noting that the figures do not included pageviews from mobile devices, and Comscore was quick to point out that traffic from Tumblr, which Yahoo recently acquired, did not contribute towards the firm's traffic numbers. Tumblr ranked at 28th in the list, with roughly 38 million views during the month of July.

Other tech giants like Microsoft, Facebook and AOL took the third, fourth and fifth spots, ranking in an estimated 180 million, 142 million and 117 page views last month, respectively.
