BOE this week demonstrated the industry's fastest display panel with a 600 Hz refresh rate, which by far exceeds that of the best gaming monitors. The panel is designed for laptops aimed at hardcore gamers who demand absolutely the highest performance, including an absurdly high refresh rate. The panel was shown off at the World Conference on Display Industry in China, but besides the size and refresh rate, no other specs were provided for the screen, although it was demonstrated at the event. While not exactly a household name, BOE is in fact one of the world's largest manufacturers of display panels. Its LCD panels are used by a wide array of desktop monitor and laptop manufacturers. If you own a laptop from one of the big boys like Dell or HP, there's a good chance it has a BOE panel. Dell may be offering a 480Hz refresh rate on some Alienware laptops, and Asus has teased a 500Hz display, but BOE is going a step further with a 16-inch laptop display capable of achieving a 600Hz refresh rate.
