Verizon has launched a new rewards program for its customers called Verizon Up. It is meant to replace the company's older Smart Rewards program. The new system rewards customers with a credit for every $300 they spend on their bill.

These credits can then be redeemed towards a variety of rewards, such as discounts towards your next device purchase, discounts on accessories, or partner rewards. There are also some additional offerings that operate on a first-come, first-served basis such as ticket opportunities.

There's a catch though. Those who want to participate in the program, have to enroll in Verizon Selects. Verizon Selects has been around for a few years. The program's participation agreement specifies a long list of personal information that can be used to direct advertising at specific users. It includes Web browsing history and other information that can personally identify customers.
