Verizon claims fastest business broadband speeds

With a top broadband tier with download/upload rates of 150/35 Mbps, Verizon is claiming its FiOS Internet for Business is the fastest mass-market broadband service currently available.

The new tier is triple the previous fastest rate Verizon has offered to small businesses .

FiOS Internet 150/35 Mbps service is available in parts of California, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia. The service is also available to some medium-size businesses.

The new tier will be available standalone or in a bundle. As a standalone service, FiOS Internet for Business starts at $229.99 per month, with a dynamic IP address and no term contract.

With a two-year contract and a dynamic IP address, the price is $204.99 per month, the company said. Service with a static address is priced somewhat higher.
