T-Mobile US Inc. and Facebook Inc. are teaming up to offer customers the GoSmart Mobile prepaid service free wireless access to the social network. This will enable GoSmart Mobile users to log-on from a browser or the Facebook application on their compatible phone to access services of the social media site beginning from January.

Nearly half of all Facebook users access the site from their mobile phones, according to Facebook. By joining together around this offering, GoSmart and Facebook aim to give more people in the United States the power to share and connect while mobile.

"Once again, T-Mobile is shaking up the wireless industry by offering unlimited Facebook for GoSmart customers with no strings attached," Doug Chartier, senior vice president of T-Mobile's GoSmart Mobile brand, said in a statement. "Customers love GoSmart because it's one of the simplest and most budget-friendly no annual contract options in wireless. The deal just got a whole lot sweeter."

New users can activate this service by buying a GoSmart Mobile SIM kit for $8. They can then install it in their GSM compatible, unlocked phones or either buy a phone from GoSmart.
