T-Mobile and BMW are partnering to deliver the first 5G-connected car in the US, powered by T-Mobile Magenta Drive.

Available to postpaid customers for $20 a month, T-Mobile Magenta Drive for BMW gives eligible vehicles full 5G connectivity, providing hotspot access to up to 10 devices simultaneously. It also allows you to make calls and receive calls from your personal cell phone number without needing to touch your phone. You'll receive call notifications on your phone and in the car so you don't miss a call. BMW models, compatible with the new plan are the new 2022 iX and 2022 i4.

Personal e-SIMs allow subscribers to add the service to their existing mobile phone plans, along with logging-in and using the service on compatible rented BMWs.

The plan gives subscribers unlimited voice, data and Wi-Fi hotspots in the US including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Customers also get 5GB of 4G data per month in Canada and Mexico.
