Sprint in wireless talks with Comcast, Charter

Sprint is reportedly in discussions with Charter Communications and Comcast on a potential deal that could bolster plans to offer wireless services. The trio of companies have agreed to a two-month exclusivity period on cutting a deal.

Such a deal could involve the companies taking equity in Sprint. The companies already have a network-resale agreement with Verizon Communications, but Sprint could provide much better terms.

Comcast has already launched a wireless service under its own brand, Xfinity Mobile, via its MVNO agreement with Verizon Communications. Comcast is bundling that mobile service with its high-speed internet service and is currently limiting sales to within its cable market footprint.

Charter Communications inherited a similar agreement via its acquisition of Time Warner Cable, and has said it has plans to introduce a wireless product next year.
