Mozilla launches Firefox Focus for Android

Mozilla has released a version of its Focus browser for Android. The private browser is very light-weight – only 4MB.

Previously limited to iOS, Firefox Focus automatically blocks ads and many of the trackers that normally follow you around the web and slow down your browsing. This allows you to surf the web undetected. It also makes it easier to erase your browsing history.

Android-specific features include an ad tracker counter, to see how many ads are blocked per site, the ability to disable the tracker blocker for sites that are not loading properly, and the option to have a notification sent when Focus is running in the background.

"More than ever before, we're seeing consumers play an active role in trying to protect their personal data and save valuable megabytes on their data plans," said Mozilla.

"Why do we block these ad trackers? Because they not only track your behavior without your knowledge, they also slow down the web on your mobile device," Mozilla added.
