Huawei's CEO has announced that we'll see a foldable 5G phone from the company at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February.

The announcement was made at the end of the firm's pre-MWC 2019 briefing in Beijing, China, where company CEO Richard Yu said "We look forward to seeing you in Barcelona in February, where we will launch the world's first 5G smartphone with foldable screen."

The as-yet-unnamed Huawei foldable phone could be commercially released in April "at the earliest" with 5G connectivity in tow made possible by the company's very own next-gen Balong 5000 modem.
