Google,Facebook both considering Skype acquisition

Google and Facebook are separetly considering an acquisition of Skype, after the company delayed its initial public offering. According to Reuters, Facebook's CEO Mark Zuckerberg has partisipated in discussions about the purchase and it is possible a joint venture to be formed between Facebook and Skype. Google has also proposed a joint venture with the company.

A future Skype deal could be estimated at $3 billion to $4 billion and Skype's IPO is expected to raise about $1 billion.

"Discussions with both Facebook and Google are still in early stages, and it's unclear which option Skype favors. Both Skype and Google declined to comment, while Facebook was not immediately available for comment."
