Comcast restores service after major outage

Comcast has restored its service after a massive outage that started on Monday. Customers living in Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, Washington D.C., Seattle, Denver, San Francisco and parts of Florida were affected.

For the majority of users the outage primarily affected TV service resulting in unavailable cable channels. Others reported Internet outages as well. Some users weren't affected at all.

"We have repaired the temporary network interruption that impacted some of our services this morning. Our engineers continue to work on this issue and almost all services have already been restored," the company said on its website.

Just three months ago, the company had another major Internet, TV and telephone service outage in California, due to an electrical fire at a Comcast headend plant in Fresno.
