Comcast's Xfinity TV online video service now features nearly 150,000 video choices after adding content from Showtime and Viacom cable networks, among others, the cable giant said in unveiling that the service is now available, for free, to all its digital video subscribers nationwide, no matter which Internet service provider they use.

The cable giant also expanded Xfinity's capabilities compared to the original announcement of the TV Everywhere-style service. For example, users can remotely program one or more home DVRs, and search capablity has been enhanced, giving users the ability to find favorite content whether they want to watch it on live TV, on demand, online or on mobile devices.

Personalized "watchlists" to keep track of favorite content and social media integration to share favorites have also been added.

Xfinity is available online for free to Comcast digital cable customers and includes hit TV shows, movies, kids' content, clips and movie trailers from nearly 90 TV and movie partners.
