Comcast will begin offering Netflix subscriptions within its cable bundles this month, the companies announced Friday. Comcast initially added Netflix to its set-top box, the Xfinity X1, in 2016, and then Netflix added 4K streaming to the platform in 2017.

Comcast at this point doesn't have details about pricing and packaging of the TV bundles that will include Netflix. Starting later this month, Comcast said it will "launch a variety of initial offers" that include a Netflix subscription that will vary by market. Comcast also has the option to bundle Netflix with standalone Xfinity Internet broadband services.

"Netflix offers one of the most popular on demand services and is an important supplement to the content offering and value proposition of the X1 platform," Sam Schwartz, chief business development officer at Comcast Cable, said in a statement.

"Our partnership with Comcast on Xfinity X1 has brought easy access to Netflix for our mutual customers," said Bill Holmes, global head of business development for Netflix. "By speaking into or browsing with the X1 remote, millions of customers have found the perfect thing to watch on Netflix. We can't wait to introduce more X1 customers to Netflix with Xfinity's new packaged offers."
