AT&T said it "may" begin selling anonymous information about its customers' wireless and Wi-Fi locations, U-verse usage, website browsing, mobile application usage and "other information" to other businesses. At the same time the carrier claims it will protect its customers' privacy by providing the data in aggregate so it cannot be used to identify an individual. The carrier will also give its customers an option whether to participate in the program or not.
AT&T is not the first wireless carrier to sell its customers' personal data. Last year, Verizon Wireless ticked off a lot of people when it announced its Precision Market Insights program, which sells supposedly anonymous data about customers' wireless behavior to marketers. Read more -here-
