Asus Transformer Book Duet Dual Boots With Windows 8.1, Android2014-01-07 04:46 by DanielaTags: ASUS, Transformer Book Duet, Windows, Android
Amid a slew of other announcements, Asus dropped a bomb on 2014 International CES with the Transformer Book Duet: a dual OS, hybrid laptop/tablet. The all-new Transformer Book Duet TD300 is a laptop/tablet convertible that can instantly switch between the Windows 8.1 and Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating systems with the push of a button. The Duet is not a dual-boot device. When you switch operating systems, the first OS goes into a state of hibernation. When you switch back to it, the OS instantly resumes at whatever state you left it in. The TD300 comes as a 13.3-inch notebook with a detachable keyboard, which when removed turns into a tablet. It features a full Intel Core i7 processor, 4GB of RAM, and an interesting storage scheme: the tablet itself has a 128GB SSD, while the laptop dock adds another 1TB of hard drive storage. The Transformer Book Duet weighs in at about 4.1 pounds, more than most ultrabooks. Connectivity is much better on the Duet than on a mere tablet - the dock is home to an HDMI 1.4 port, USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, and ethernet port. The tablet portion of the Duet has an 802.11ac wireless card, Bluetooth 4.0 with EDR, and a headphone jack. Read more -here-
