Adobe updates Flash Player security

Software house Adobe has released fixes for a number of critical vulnerabilities in its Flash Player version 10.1.85.3 and earlier.

The issues span the Windows, Macintosh, Linux, Solaris and Android versions of Flash Player and could, the firm said, cause the application to crash or let an attacker take control of an affected PC.

Predictably Adobe is recommending that anyone who has the vulnerable software upgrade to Flash Player 10.1.102.64, however as yet this only applies to machines running the Windows, Mac, Linux and Solaris operating systems. Adobe said it will release an update for the Android mobile OS on 9 November.

According to patch management firm Lumension, computer users will find themselves with a bumper crop of updates to contend with this month, with the Adobe fixes being just one batch of many.
