Adobe will have to pay $1 million to around 500,000 people in 15 states as part of a "multistate agreement" which resolves an investigation into the 2013 data breach. In the breach from October 2013 usernames, passwords and encrypted credit card information of millions of users were stolen and leaked online. Authorities blamed Adobe that it failed to take the necessary steps to protect its customers' data. The 15 states that participated in the investigation and agreement were: Arkansas, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Missouri, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Vermont. Under the settlement, Adobe agrees to implement new policies and practices to prevent similar breaches in the future. Read more -here-
