Telnet for Windows Vista and Windows 7 ?

Under Windows Vista and Windows 7, the telnet client is not installed by default. Since telnet is not a secure protocol, Microsoft seems to have decided to leave it out.

To install the telnet client, simply follow the steps below:

1. Click the Windows Start button, open Control panel.
2. Navigate to Programs > Program and Features > "Turn Windows features on or off"
3. Click "Turn Windows Features on or off", then check the "Telnet client" in the alphabetical list.

You should now have the telnet client available in command prompt.
