Ethernet or USB ?

Tags: ,
Many current Cable/DSL mdems include an USB port for ease of installation. If possible, always try to use Ethernet Network adapters, rather than USB. Ethernet is much more reliable than USB.

The one advantage of using USB over Ethernet is ease of installation.

I personaly think ethernet would be easier than using the USB connection. With USB you have to go through a setup prcedure and enter user prameters which can confuse. On the other hand it's easy to connect the ethernet cable and there you go!

Remember that not all PCs have a built-in NIC... Sometimes it is easier for installers to just plug into an USB port, rather than go through the trouble of opening the case and installing a dedicated Ehternet card (additional cost/time).
