5. Who provides Satellite Internet ?

Although there are many companies offering satellite internet, the majority of satellite broadband is provided by two companies: Hudges (DirectPC/DirectWay) and Gilat (Starband). Hudges uses various partners that resell their service. Although they provide low tier tech support, and the transponders/ gateways might be unique to them, service is still provided by Hudges.

Here is an incomplete list of some major Satellite Internet providers:

HughesNet (DirectWay)
Earthlink
Galaxy Broadband - Canada
Ground Control
Isat
MotoSat
net2dish
NRTC
Starband
