4. How does the TCP Optimizer work ?

Many network settings in Windows (especially XP/2k/9x versions) are configured for dialup (low speed) or Ethernet (low latency) devices. With today's high-speed Internenet connections, this oversight hampers the performance of your Internet connection as much as 200%.

In essence, optimizing Windows TCP/IP settings removes the bottleneck caused by your OS to internet connectivity, allowing for better utilization of all available bandwidth provided by your ISP.

The SG TCP Optimizer is a tool that optimizes your Windows network/Internet settings, resulting in up to 200% speed boost. It is completely free, legal and recommended by ISPs as well !

It's amazing: on my PC with ADSL2+ connection, before tuning with TCP optimizer, I only got less than 90KB/s speed when test with the ISP's test mirror. Now I get 600+KB/s.

Qwest worked for 3 and a half days trying to correct my slow download speed. With 3M service I was pulling 900Kbps. They gave up and my son in law told me to try the optimizer. I'm now pulling 2300 to 2400 Kbps consistenly. What a difference.

Not currently. You can use the Vista TCP/IP patch from our download page for Vista, Server 2008 and Windows 7: http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php#vista

I'm using it and it works perfectly. But I just wanted to know how it really works, it opens anything censored by the ISP with keeping the real IP address. It's not a proxy as all proxy detectors return false. so how does this thing work? and does it ensure privacy as our ISPs in Tunisia record and spy our internet browsing. Thanks for that great tool! and I hope you keep moving forward!

Im using broadband connection. Can i use your TCP Optimizer 3.xx on Windows 7 OS? or do i simply run the SG Vista TCP/IP Patch? Thanks...
by Philip - 2012-02-14 18:23
Yes, the TCP Optimizer 3.x works with Windows 7/Vista as well. You don't need to use the patches if you use the Optimizer.
