Okay, so I blindly ran the TCP Optimizer on my Windows 7 system without reading that would be a a no-no. Does the optimizer add any registry items that previously did not exist, and if so, will restoring the previous settings using the tool actually delete them them?
The Optimizer shows all changes before making them. It also has the capability of restoring the registry settings to their previous state (or deleting any newly created ones) as well.
It should have no negative effect in either case, as unknown/invalid entries are just ignored by the OS (many programs leave numerous registry entries behind after being uninstalled).
OK so i found this after running the programe and rebooting allreadey i have windows 7 installed and it still made my conection faster I have dsl/broadband and went from 4100 kbps download and 320 kbps up to
5044 kbps down and 424 kbps up so are thes test results wrong or does it really work on windows 7
The main settings that have effect on performance (RWIN) are no longer controlled through the Windows Registry, however, there may be some secondary tweaks from the Optimizer that are untested/undocumented with Vista/Windows 7 and still work.
I have tried to use TCP Optimizer 3.03 serveral times but it did not improve my internet speed by even .001%
what is the reason?
Tweaking your end of the connection is still limited by your line, if you're already getting the maximum speed that your ISP is able to provide you won't see much improvement.
sir when i select optimal settings and press ok in TCP optimiser after then a window opens it shows " the current user account do not have permission to write to all the registry hives. Plz login with administratoion previliges." Then i press ok and a new window appears i press ok again and then it shows another window named with error. Si what shall me do for this problem.
Save the program to your desktop, then right-click on it and choose "Run as administrator" from the pull down menu.

I have used the Windows 7 version of the Optimizer, and have used the Optimal option, since there is no RWIN window to adjust any longer. I have had no increase from 2.6mbps on a 25mbps Fios connection. Any ideas of how to increase that?

Run this command to switch off the TCP auto-tuning on Windows 7 and then run TCP Optimiser and reboot when done.
